Publication year: 2023Tenala-born Karl "Kalle" Augustson, born in 1941, has been active as an entrepreneur, writer and aid worker who has sent out over 400 aid shipments with food and other necessities around Finland and abroad to help people in need. Augustson's humanitarian work has extended to Romania, Iraq, Kosovo, Albania, Russia, Estonia and Latvia, among others. One of Augustson's achievements is that he has helped refugees such as the paralyzed Kurdish girl Midiya and her father to get from Iraq to Finland, thus giving them a new life.
